New to this whole thing.

Hi I am an cake decorator just starting out. I was told I should set up a blog to help get feedback. So here it is. So what to do know ... what to do?

Well, like I aid, I am a new cake decorator and baker. I have been doing it for about a year now and have decided to start doing it for a living - or at least a part-time living. My wife and I have been working on getting a NYS certified kitchen built in out basement (for as little money as possible).

I have my BFA degree in Painting and have spent the last 10 years or so in the graphic design world. I stopped all that a year ago when our second child was born so that I could be a stay-at-home dad. I love being home with them and working from home is a goal of mine - and if I can use my art skills while I am at it and enjoy it all, that's just icing on the cake :)

Now that's my background in cakes and what I want to do. I will throw a link to my Flickr page so anyone can make comments - tell me what they like, don't like, what they would have liked better - anything.

I am thinking future posts will be ideas for upcoming cakes, problems I am having with the cakes or getting the kitchen together and anything else that comes to mind.
